Purchase terms, privacy, and who handles payment

What this costs, who takes the payment, and how it reaches you. This describes how this product and this site work. It is not legal advice, and it does not claim to satisfy the consumer-protection requirements of every country a buyer might be in.

Terms of sale

Who does what.

The split between this site and Stripe is a clean one. Here is which side holds what.

  • The Merchant of Record for this transaction is the Stripe entity identified on the checkout and on the receipt, under Stripe Managed Payments. It handles the checkout and payment, the sales tax, VAT or GST that falls inside Managed Payments coverage, and support for the transaction itself. That is not a claim that every tax in every country is covered.
  • SUCCESS FACTORY (this site) wrote the chapter, describes it, sends the files and answers questions about the product. It does not process the purchase and receives no card details.
  • Card details never pass through this site. The email address entered at checkout is read by SUCCESS FACTORY through Stripe's dashboard, and used only to deliver the files and answer questions about the product.
  • Delivery is not automatic yet. The files are sent by hand, within 24 hours. Managed Payments is about who transacts with the buyer; it does not make delivery automatic.

What this site does not receive.

  • No analytics of any kind, and no cookies set.
  • No email capture field anywhere. No newsletter, no account, no sign-up.
  • This site itself receives nothing about a purchase: no card details and no order record. While delivery is done by hand, SUCCESS FACTORY does read the email address entered at checkout, through Stripe's dashboard. A purchase is not anonymous.
  • Past the purchase button you are on Stripe's checkout. What they do with what you enter there is governed by their own terms and privacy policy, which is worth reading on their checkout.

What this page is, and is not.

What is written here describes how this product and this site work. It is not legal advice. It also does not mean that having this page satisfies every obligation the law places on a seller or a provider, anywhere. The Merchant of Record for this transaction is the Stripe entity identified under Managed Payments; SUCCESS FACTORY wrote the chapter, provides it and delivers it. A change in which party transacts with the buyer is not a guarantee that every obligation of the person who made the product goes away.

The identity and payout details required to open a Stripe account are supplied to Stripe directly and privately. That this site neither stores nor displays them means exactly that, and no more: it is not a claim that the provider has no obligations, and it is not a claim that anybody is anonymous.

Nothing on this page attempts to state the consumer-protection law of whichever country you are reading from. If you hold a statutory right where you live, this page does not remove it and does not claim to.

What is in the product, who it suits, and what it refuses to promise are written on the Chapter 1 page.
